The two countries also finalized 6 other joint projects including the repair of Ukrainian T-64 and T-72 tanks. euromaidanpress.com/... While the announcement about the joint Israeli and Czech designed attack aircraft is the banner headline, it is also note-worthy that the Czech Republic has joined the group of neighboring NATO countries to essentially form the depot repair and maintenance operation as well as the equipment logistics tail for Ukraine’s war effort, especially if the war were to stretch out a few more years. This is really critical for Ukraine’s ability to have the regular cycling of armor to and from the battlefield. The F/A-259(see link) is not a gee whiz super advanced 5th generation aircraft, but for a country like Ukraine which quickly needs to be able to get as many fighter jets into the fight as it can, being able to have the ability to quickly ramp up and produce its own capable fighter jets is imperative. In my earlier work, I had the opportunity to work with both Aero Vodochody of the Czech Republic and Israel Aerospace Industries. Both are excellent companies at the forefront of the global defense industry. military-wiki.com/... If the U.S., EU and NATO stand behind this joint effort, Ukraine could quickly get a critical mass of much needed fighters up in the air. And NATO would be spared all the political handwringing about sending fighter jets to Ukraine. Ukraine will be building its own. Problem solved.
