Why are Sotomayer, Kagan and Brown-Jackson open to destroy their reputations for corrupt brethren? [1]

Something terrible seems to be happening. Corruption is so rampant among the justices on the Supreme Court that people have started talking about it (and I guess thinking about it) as a whole. Not as a whole in a way that would be meaningful. It is almost NEVER called the ROBERTS COURT (which is strange to me, because in my lifetime it SCOTUS was always identified with the chief justice’s name. Just as the Nine Justices or the Supreme Court. The three liberal justices are automatically being folded into the most corrupt court in modern history. And in some ways it is their own fault. All nine justices signed the letter saying they can take care of themselves, no oversight needed, we are above the law, please move along. I am baffled as to why Sotomayer, Kagan and Brown Jackson gave up their integrity and signed the letter. Actually I am not baffled. Destruction of the justice system is a small price to pay for a comfortable work environment. Not one o them has stood up and said, “Yes, we have a terrible problem and we need to deal with it as a society.” These three are courageous people, or at least were courageous before they became SC Justices. Does position do this to people.

But they are allowing themselves to be part of what the media is trying to make the corrupt, unnamed Supreme Court. The nine. Easy to make the argument that it is the institution and not the people in it. Why would they give up their legacies so easily to protect cretins who probably hate them?
