The most recent mass shooting in Texas is very disturbing. The idea that a family can be killed because the shooter was asked to stop shooting his AR-15 late at night--that’s the America we live in. This story has been all over the news this weekend. The interview that shocked me and just stuck with me was the interview with woman who lives on the same street. She said that she heard the shots but she “thought it was just normal shooting.” She did not realize that people were being killed. The sound of gunshots is so common to her that she referred to it as “just normal shooting.” I don’t understand why we, as a society, are not more disturbed by any shooting. No one should hear gunshots and think “that’s just normal shooting.”
