This is an illustration from the video that deals with the "first" rollout of AI. The video explains it more thoroughly.

I don’t want to overstate this, but everyone really should watch this video: The A.I. Dilemma. It describes how ChatGPT and similar artificial intelligence software (“A.I.”) are becoming an existential threat to humanity, and are doing so at an exponential rate, and that it is critical right now that its deployment be regulated in some manner.

Paraphrasing a statement in the video: 50% of A.I. developers believe that there’s a 10% chance it will lead to the extinction of humanity. (Would you fly in an airliner that had a 10% chance of crashing every trip?)

Tristan Harris and Aza Raskin, creators of this video, don’t assert that A.I. is inherently bad, only that it is inherently uncontrollable, largely due to the current “arms race” between companies intent on rolling it out. They do not suggest that A.I. is evil, only that it is amoral (my word, not theirs). The only solution they suggest is to limit the public rollout of A.I. — not to prohibit it. However, they also say that they can’t offer a real solution to the problem.

Don’t trust my judgement. Those of you who take my suggestion and do watch this video, please comment on it afterwards to persuade (or dissuade if you have reason) others to watch it as well.
