The DOJ just published the indictment of George Anthony Devolder Santos.

13 criminal charges.. Broken down into these groups.

1. Wire Fraud-Campaign finance (expected)

2. Theft of public money (expected, campaign funds used for personal use, multiple diaries on that one) And he went the “go big or go home” on this one. He created a fake charity to solicit donations...

4. Wire fraud relating to false unemployment benefit applications… (not on the radar, but also not surprised, a crook is a crook...)

5. False statements- House campaign filings (expected, but also charged with statements from his first 2020 campaign)

UPDATE: Santos surrendered this morning, and faces a bail hearing later today. This likely does not impact his voting on bills, as House members are only disallowed from voting AFTER a guilty plea or conviction and awaiting sentencing. They can vote while under indictment.

The charges also include the tangential crime of money laundering on donations of greater than $10,000 per transaction, so it is distinctly possible a superseding indictment may in the works..
