[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-06-04 Okay, here is the link to the list: en.wikipedia.org/… I always start at the bottom, and work my way up, the way Casey Kasem always did, when I was growing up. At number 99, I saw a song I knew, “Funky Town.” But it was by Pseudo Echo, not Lipps, Inc. I played it, and it was full of energy. I decided to, just for fun, post both the older and the newer versions of the song here: Lipps Inc., from 1980: Truly nice, classic disco. Pseudo Echo, at number 99: Young men working hard, to make it a hard rock song. I admire their energy. Richard Marx, at number 54: Wow. This song should have been at number one. Seems to me. Wang Chung, at number 12: I do not like this style of video. But, have fun, anyway. Bonn Jovi, at number 10: Damn. This song has had one billion views. But forget about that. And ignore all the clowning around in the video. The lyrics tell the story of a young couple, living paycheck to paycheck. That was Pam and I, from our wedding day, in 1977, until she died, in 2008. So, the song made me cry. Oh well. Crying actually makes me feel better. Bruce Hornsby and the Range, at number 8: I like the melody, and I like the lyrics: www.bing.com/… Said, "Hey, little boy, you can't go where the others go 'Cause you don't look like they do" Said, "Hey, old man, how can you stand to think that way? Did you really think about it before you made the rules?" Robbie Nevil, at number 6: Okay, from that title, I thought it was the other C’est La Vie: OOhhh, yeah! That’s the good stuff! I cannot resist. I will now post another nice song, by Emerson Lake & Palmer: Back in the olden days, I spent a lot of time, listening to that song. Whitney Houston, at number 4: Wow. That video is so colorful, so lively, so precise. At number 2 is “Alone” by Heart. But, back in the olden days, I found a song by Heart that I like so much more than “Alone” or any of their other songs: So smooth, so right, so powerful. Of all the songs telling the story of a woman, who is trying to tell her man what he must do, to maintain a strong relationship, this is truly one of the most powerful. She is saying: “If you drift too far away, then come back, and look in my eyes, you might find that the woman you thought I was, is no longer here. She checked out. There is nobody home.” Okay, here is the link to my list again: en.wikipedia.org/… I left you a lot of real estate, between number 99 and number 54, and between number 54 and number 12. Post some Cyndi Lauper, Prince, Michael Jackson, Madonna. I will feel disappointed if you fail to do so. Party on!
