Joy's Birthday [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-06-05 My daughter, Summer, treated the family to a Birthday brunch at a delightful place in Black Mountain yesterday. We had a fine time and the rest of day was good. Later, she posted the following letter to Joy, and I thought those that knew her as Joieau would appreciate Summer’s words. Wishing all a peaceful season. Happy Birthday Joy Thank you for all the cool and amazing things you’ve taught me, like how to tell a good story, craft your narrative, never let them tell you how it was or how it’s going to be. You taught me that nothing is impossible because I saw you do the truly impossible things many times in your life. Thank you for taking your own kids on a PI mission to rescue me when I was kidnapped, and thank you for all the prayers and times you held my mom when I was gone. Thanks for teaching me what blind faith in the universe and trusting yourself can get you, a completely self determined path full of blessed mysteries. We miss you terribly, your beautiful words and quick jokes and effortlessly graceful way. You brought so many people together. We could fill an ocean with the lessons you shared among us but one really sticks out now: you don’t know everything, so go ahead and question everything. Science and religion are both just ways of trying to pin down and explain the miracle of life. Maybe death isn’t the end, and maybe we will meet again. I sure hope so, Sum [END] --- [1] Url: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2023/6/5/2173418/-Joy-s-Birthday Published and (C) by Daily Kos Content appears here under this condition or license: Site content may be used for any purpose without permission unless otherwise specified. via Magical.Fish Gopher News Feeds: gopher://magical.fish/1/feeds/news/dailykos/
