Don't Vote for Biden. Vote for the Biden TEAM. [1]

I hate that Joe Biden is so freaking old, when we need younger voters.

And so white, when we need minorities.

And so on and so forth.

But he’s our guy — the only thing standing between the nation and a fascist do-over of Trump, or Trump-ism, that will destroy the nation. I think most reading would agree that’s not hyperbole.

But polls show many folks wish he wouldn’t run. So here’s a concept:

Can a key plank of Biden’s message be: when you vote for me, you’re not just electing me. You’re electing the Biden Team. You’re putting Antony Blinken back in charge as Secretary of State; he’s competent and smart and fair. You’re sending Marcia Fudge back out there at HUD. You’re keeping Pete Buttigieg at Transportation. Kamala Harris continues as an outstanding VP. And not just them — the people whose faces you see on TV. It’s their teams. It’s their decision-making. It’s their values. I’m just one man. Any president is just one person. He or she can only do so much. Remember that when you vote for Joe Biden, you’re voting for the person he is, and the values that he’ll bring to his entire administration.”

I know the retort is “you only get to vote for the guy at the top” or whatever. Trump strong, “he alone” can do whatever, bullshit bullshit bullshit. But I am searching for a convenient and reassuring bit of counterbalance to the “damn that dude is just too old” danger that’s out there. I think one might simply be “it’s not just me.”
