As if intentionally flooding thousands of homes isn’t bad enough, Russia fires on rescuers. There is one guest who actually explains how the destruction of the dam could never have been done by Ukrainian artillery shelling. x Arguments broke out on the set of a Russian TV show when experts vehemently disagreed with the cover story about the destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam. Bewildered hosts discovered that the only propagandist they could rely on was Tucker Carlson.https://t.co/2VrN4jCIPZ — Julia Davis (@JuliaDavisNews) June 8, 2023 -------------------------------------------------------— This is yet another death on Russia’s hands. x Ukrainian Defender Volodymyr Kavulich died rescuing residents of Kherson region on 7th June. This thread exposes that bogus practice. x 1. Avoid the temptation to bothsides a calamity. That's not journalism. — Timothy Snyder (@TimothyDSnyder) June 7, 2023 x 4. If a Russian spokesman (e.g. Dmitri Peskov) must be cited, it must be mentioned that this specific figure has lied about every aspect of this war. This is not insult but context. Readers picking up the story in the middle need to know the background. — Timothy Snyder (@TimothyDSnyder) June 7, 2023 x 6. When a story begins with bothsidesing, readers are instructed that an object in the physical world (like a dam) is just an element of narrative. They are guided into the wrong genre (literature) right at the moment when analysis is needed. This does their minds a disservice. — Timothy Snyder (@TimothyDSnyder) June 7, 2023 --------------------------------------------------------— This new long-range missile probably won't be available for this war unless it drags on quite a while longer. Moscow is about 760 kilometers by air from Kyiv. A missile program has been approved in Ukraine with “good prospects” for the country to have domestic missiles with a range of more than 1,000 kilometers, according to Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov, who said it at a Kyiv forum on the restoration of Ukraine, an Ukrinform reports. According to the minister, the missile program has been officially approved, and funds have already been allocated from the budget to this end. The actors involved in the program are Ukrainian producers, according to Reznikov. The minister did not mention the particular types of missiles which are going to be produced under the program. The closest Ukrainian project is the HRIM-2 which targeted the 500-kilometer range and was nearing its testing stage before the war. Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed several times, providing no evidence, to have shot down HRIM-2 missiles. Another possibility is extending the range of the R-360 Neptune anti-ship missiles, known for sinkingthe Russian Black Sea Fleet’s flagship Moskva. -------------------------------------------------------— Careful! It might be one of those Russian fish bombs.
