FLIGHT. RISK. [1]

How long before we consider that Donald Tr*mp is a massive flight risk? Not just a flight risk, but a flight risk who has the absolute means to leave. He has private jets at the ready. He has billions (or millions) of dollars to aid in his flee from justice and establish lifelong comfort elsewhere. He has connections around the world with dictators and autocrats in unsavory places without enforceable extradition — autocrats that would LOVE to help their favorite president for a propaganda win alone. A former president who has seen all of the nation’s most grave national security secrets. A man who clearly doesn’t care about the information within them.

Is it that much of a stretch to imagine that TFG could abscond with millions of dollars in a private jet for Russia prior to his trial? That Putin could offer him a cool billion dollars, a mansion, and an easy, luxurious life in exchange for our prized national security information and a few press photos? Putin has already intimated (no, flat out offered) as such.

And believe me, this is not just some ruminating la-de-dah hypothetical. I truly believe Tr*mp presents a clear and present danger to all of us in the form of flight from justice; and I believe his destination would be an adversarial nation, who would be oh-so-happy to assist in his departure from the US. This narcissistic, criminal-minded millionaire with the private jet, with an open invitation from Putin to come to Russia, with knowledge of our nation’s secrets….

In a sane country, or with literally ANYONE else presenting these ‘means’ of escape prior to trial, you would see them held without bail after arraignment (look to Manafort). I don’t believe an ankle monitor solution is even enough in a case like this, given the gravity of what is at stake. This man knows our secrets. If January 6th has taught us anything, it’s that TFG is willing to do ANYTHING for self-preservation. And a long prison sentence would be a truly existential threat to TFG. Do you think Tr*mp is willing to die in prison? He will FLEE. He is the biggest, clearest, and gravest threat to our nation, potentially ever.
