[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-06-19 An ethically-Tartar partisan group in Crimea is claiming on Telegram that Russia troops there are being admitted to the hospital with cholera symptoms...and that some number of those troops have died. Apparently, Russian troops are drinking from standing water rather than being provided drinking water from bottled or purified sources. From the Atesh partisan group’s Telegram channel (translated), “Our informants from the military hospitals of the Kherson region and the Crimea report that every day they receive a lot of military forces of the Russian Federation with suspicion of cholera...Entire units from the Kherson direction located along the North Crimean Canal lose their combat capability and are taken to the rear for treatment...most likely due to the use of water from open sources, because there are difficulties with the delivery of bottled or simply purified water to the occupiers. Several Russian soldiers died.” x An epidemic of cholera is spreading among Russian military personnel in Kherson Oblast and Crimea following a Russian terrorist attack onthe Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, the Atesh partisan movement reported on Telegram on June 17.https://t.co/Feh23lBd8D — Dᴇғᴇɴsᴇ (Nᴏʀᴛʜ) Ӂ (@Defense_North) June 18, 2023 https://english.nv.ua/nation/russian-units-in-kherson-oblast-and-crimea-stricken-in-cholera-outbreak-losing-combat-effectivene-50332646.html https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/ukraine-situation-report-russia-making-push-in-east Not to put too fine a point on it but, is anyone particularly surprised that the Russian commanders aren’t making it a priority to provide clean drinking water for their troops?
