[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-06-22 June 22, 2023 Representative John Curtis 2236 Rayburn House Building Washington, DC 20515 Phone: 202-225-7751 - FAX: 202-225-5629 Representative Curtis; You voted for House Resolution 521, which censured Democratic Representative Adam Schiff for investigating foreign interference in the 2016 presidential election and for participating in the impeachment of the former president who, by his own admission, threatened to extort Ukrainian President Zelensky if he refused to create a phony investigation to accuse then-Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter of corruption. Yet, you’ve refused to introduce a resolution to censure George Santos, your Republican colleague and admitted liar who conned voters into electing him and who’s been charged with federal offenses, including lying to the House, money laundering, theft of public funds, and wire fraud. You would have voters believe you’re an “honorable” member of Congress who lives by his oath to “faithfully discharge the duties of the office” to which you were elected. So, how is voting to censure Democratic Representative Schiff for investigating corruption and for participating in the impeachment of a president who attempted to extort a foreign leader to gain political advantage while ignoring the alleged criminal actions and double-dealing of Republican Representative Santos in any way faithfully discharging the duties of your office as a legislator elected and paid to preserve and protect the best interests of the American people? Have you the courage to publicly answer that question, or will you remain silent, hoping against hope that now that you’ve assuaged the former president by voting to censure Representative Schiff, he’ll pay you back by NOT subjecting you to a primary challenge as you run once again for reelection? Before you decide whether or not to answer, John, you might want to reflect on the following words of wisdom: "Each day is a day of decision, and our decisions determine our destiny." ~ Russell M.
