Street Prophets Friday: Another Week of Werelynxing [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-06-23 Ah, the winds are gusting out there, darling ducklings. Thunderstorms last night, perhaps a bit more of the same blowing through as I type this. Better get this open thread intro finished and get the slideshow started. This is just a bit of community fluff and I'll be around, in and out, all weekend. No such thing as a late comment in here. And I hope you'll bring a bit of your own week to share in the comments. Last Friday, I was a bit late to my own diary. I'd been downtown at St. Ludmila's where a friend of mine was taking part in a choral performance of Beethoven's Mass in C Major. Come for the singing, stay for the stained glass After the concert I went out for a hamburger to a restaurant that my step-sister and her husband have adopted. Tasty, but the usual problem of too much goop for the bun to survive. A burger meant to be eaten with a knife and fork is not a burger. I've had similar burger things in a number of different places, but it was kinda charming how taken with the place these newly arrived residents were. Still basking in that glow of novelty, fresh wonders on every street corner. Saturday, we celebrated Fabulous Mother-In-Law's birthday at my nephew's house and drove up to the chalupa in the evening. Garden update The Sweet Peas were starting to bloom. The Redstart family was up to their usual antics. The male and a fluffy fledgling Mother Redstart Fledgling Some of the radishes were ready for harvest. Caught a fuzzy honeybee enjoying the flowers on one of the sage plants. Back in the big city, we're not far from the great outdoors. Thursday evening, we went for a walk in the Prokop Valley. Roe Deer and her fawn. A moody shot of a rail bridge over the stream— mostly lost behind the branches. And that about does it for me this week. A bit of scribbling, a bit of running around, even cooked my own burgers for the family on Wednesday. I did make a vegetarian curry this week, so it wasn't all red meat. Ugh, I've got to cut down on the beef in my diet. Thanks for stopping by. This is an open thread.
