The news of Prigozhin’s actions are everywhere:

Prigozhin said in a video on Telegram. “Military sites in Rostov, including an aerodrome, are under control,” he added, saying he and his 25,000 fighters were “ready to die”.

The question though, is how can Ukraine take advantage?

Firstly, an observation on Prigozhin. He is evil and cruel, and no one outside of Russia would be sorry to see him stop a 155mm howitzer shell. But he’s probably the only Russian leader with an ounce of courage and perhaps a “non negative honour score”. If he appeared in Homer’s Iliad, you could almost get behind his character.

Those are characteristics that would appeal to “modern” Russians — compared to the cowards in the Kremlin who run for cover when some tiny drones fly over.

Prigozhin and Wagner are for once the underdog, and can we or Ukraine “help”?

never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake

Often attributed to Napoleon, who made a big mistake in taking on the Russian winter. But should Ukraine “interrupt” — that is intervene, and how?
