Oh Boy, Is This Great! [1]

Some things you simply can’t make up. Saturday night, a special Michigan state GOP committee meeting was held at a hotel in Clare, MI. Michigan Republicans have been having some, um, sharp disagreements over the direction the party is going. MI got fair redistricting for 2022 after a voter initiative was approved in 2018. Republicans tried to stop that at every turn, but it went into effect and the GOP got absolutely trashed here in ‘22.

Anyway, this meeting was closed door, committee members only, and that didn’t sit too well with some other Republicans. A few of them gathered in the hotel lobby and one guy tried to get into the meeting, but the door was locked. The local GOP chairman went to check who was at the door, and all hell broke loose. The disgruntled Republican evidently immediately kicked the chairman in the balls, then slammed him into a chair, breaking a rib. The police were called and the chairman had to go to the ER for treatment. He plans to file charges.

The best quote of all comes from the aggressor:

“When you see me taking my glasses off, I’m ready to rock," Chapman said.
