Fossil Fuel Futures [1]

The fossil fuel industry has known since the 1980’s that their products would cause serious and possibly irreversible harm to the environment. But they continued with business as usual because business as usual is so profitable! In fact, they’ve actually fought against converting to greener forms of energy.

I have to wonder, did it occur to any of the oil tycoons that their billions of dollars will someday be worthless if there’s no human life on the planet? What were they thinking? What are they thinking?

I can’t get into other people’s heads, so I can only speculate about their thought processes. One speculation of mine is depicted in the image above.
