The Republican Party is Openly Plotting to Steal America [1]

There is a perfect storm brewing in America, and few of us are reaching for the umbrella. I am not the first to say it; in chaos, you can steal. The late radio bomb thrower Rush Limbaugh discussed creating “ Operation Chaos” in the 2008 election cycle. He planned to have Republicans register as Democrats in the primary and blow up the Dems’ nomination process. Since then, the GOP and its minions have tried variations on the plan. The Koch Brothers—Charles and his late brother David, gave 200,000 dollars to Democrats in 2010, looking to wield influence in Congress. After all, every time you sneeze into a tissue, wash your hands, and wipe them on a towel, you are probably lining the coffers of Koch Industries, so they have a lot to lose.

The Jill Stein connection with Vladimir Putin, thus helping Donald Trump, and her provable skewing of vote counts costing Hillary Clinton the election in 2016 has become the stuff of legend. The advent of the No Labels group (not a party) is well funded by dark money. Recent revelations that some of those hidden donors (kept secret by the organization) are Republicans are not surprising. Additionally, with this year’s election cycle’s Jill Stein—Cornell West and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Republicans appear giddy. Electioneering is often a product of coincidence and could be the product of imagination, but the GOP’s latest plan is not.

The Project 2025 plan is named for what the Republicans hope is the success of Donald Trump or a junior version of him to be inaugurated in 2025. The GOP plans a wholesale expansion of their long-held belief in the unitary presidency. One of the reasons former Attorney General Bill Barr got the job in the Trump administration was his advocacy of the idea of an all-powerful President. When I read the details of what Trump and his post-insurrectionists would do; had I been wearing a hat, it would have incinerated because my hair was on fire. Get ready for Trump News because he would have control of the Federal Communications Commission. Freshwater and fresh air would fall prey to corporate polluters because the EPA would have to bend to the will of an imperial President. Any federal employee, down to the person(s) who empty waste baskets overnight, would be subject to firing in retaliation for anything untoward they said against their new Mussolini.

At a recent Michigan rally, Trump said, “ We will demolish the deep state. We will expel the warmongers from our government. We will drive out the globalists. We will cast out the communists, Marxists, and fascists. And we will throw off the sick political class that hates our country.” Most dangerously, Trump would effectively eliminate the power of Congress. Imagine, if you will, Americans sweep into both houses of Congress huge Democratic majorities, and the new 119th Congress votes for all the things voters want: Climate crisis funds, funding for the poor, and more funding for housing, healthcare, and green energy. Before popping that bottle of champagne, Trump could impose the return of “impoundment of appropriated funds” under his new powers. He could refuse to spend any money allocated by Congress. Poof, more weather-related catastrophes, hungry children, dilapidated homes, sick grandmas, and choking fossil fuel fumes; the Republicans not only want chaos, but they are also dangerous.
