If war was about profits, torture, rape, and killing then you could argue that it is going swimmingly.

The various global MICS do rather well out of the concept, threat, and actualization of war.

The so-called and generally misnamed strongmen may have narcissistic visions of glorious imperial conquest, rather than lead their armies to victory they send their troops to the meat grinder. All empires rise and fall even the Romans and the British eventually ran out of steam, sure they left quite a history to self-congratulate themselves upon, ignoring the human cost of it all.

The recent record of warfare has been even poorer, actual conquest is more difficult than any self-proclaimed strongman can imagine and usually ends up with them giving up if not in actual defeat.

The USA has fared no better even with all its technological advantages.

It is pointless, no matter how hard you try to pull on the heartstrings to try and justify your goals.

If we had been wise enough to divert all the resources diverted to war to fight climate change, disease, poverty, and hunger then the world might be a better place.

Where is the glory in that?

Its long past time that even the thought of war was put in the shredder.

Just a thought.
