IAN: Thursday 8/10/2023 Just Babbling [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-08-09 The weather here is doing strange things, like everywhere. Today, Wednesday as I write this, it was hot, overcast, then sunny and it rained. The drops were big ole fat guys that made a real plop on the pavement and in the ponds but really didn’t leave any water anywhere. They made my car look like the Adobe, the car made out of mud. (Do you remember that SNL bit?) It was of course immediately as steamy as a spa. Its a tough life when it is like this weatherwise and you have hot flashes intermittently. But it does not good to whine. As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care! IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news! They were not disturbed and I hope he gets discouraged when he finds them again tonight. I will let Razzle be out until about 10p but then she will come in and he may come visit when he can’t smell her there. Possums don’t see or hear well, but they have an acute sense of smell. I hope it keeps him safe until he gets bored with the spiky plants. Maybe Thursday, I will go down to the beach and see how it is. I could go up to Palos Verdes, over looking miles of beach and mountain ravines but it takes all day and I really need to get my guild stuff ready. The meeting is the 16th. I have only made 4 DIY’s but they are cute and I am about ½ finished with another. I usually make 10. And just to round it all out, here are pictures of two blocks I made for a quilt for a long time BFF. It was geisha and kimono blocks with the most gorgeous fabric I have ever worked with. Just posting them here to be seen again. So that is my story and I am sticking to it. Tell us your story.
