Just How Dumb Are Republicans? [1]

Hopefully, as Ohio goes so goes the nation! Issue 1, which would have, pretty much; resulted in an almost complete abortion ban in the state come the next election, was resoundingly defeated by a 60% to 40% margin on August 8. That happened even in my ruby red Greene County, albeit by a smaller margin, and in some counties it went down 75% to 25%!

It was all that Ohioans could vote for or against on the August 8 ballot. This exercise in GOP futility wasted $20,000,000 of the state’s money! I guess when it comes to wasting money it’s okay for the GOP to do it, but not the Dems.

A short time ago I received a text from Sherrod Brown, our Dem senator, asking for donations because one of his opponents for his senate seat next year is going to be touting his support for a national abortion ban. Really? Do the GOP candidates, and the entire GOP, actually think banning abortion nationally is a winning strategy?

C’mon Sherrod, lighten up! If you lose your senate seat, which I believe is an extremely remote possibility, it’s certainly not going to be because of the abortion issue considering that an overwhelming majority of Americans believe that abortion should be legal—even in Ohio!

How dumb are Republicans? Why do they believe losing issues will win them elections?
