Another Political Song Tops the Charts in Two Days [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-08-13 Originally claimed by the right, it hasn’t sat so well with all over there. They like the negative thoughts on welfare but then rural Appalachia is not big city. Taxes get a shout out but Republicans figure only the wealthy are overtaxed. I hope it gives many indigestion. No mention from major news sources. It’s now on it’s fourth day. It was at the top of Itunes but I’m not sure how to find out if it’s still there. It is more of a working class protest song. Some on the right don’t like the idea of someone complaining about low wages and rich people. The singer, Oliver Anthony is a complete unknown, the vid is his first that isn’t an iphone vid. Politically he claims to be right down the middle. “I'll say this, I sit pretty dead center down the aisle on politics and always have. I remember as a kid the conservatives wanting war and me not understanding that, and I remember a lot of the controversies when the left took office, and it seems like both sides serve the same master and that master is not someone of any good to the people of this country.” Sounds like he is describing the Iraq war, a war that seemed senseless to people left and right, yet most all politicians acquiesced. I think it kind of touches the same nerve the modern version of Fast Car does. I actually wish someone would do a remake of Talkin About a Revolution, which, hard to believe was about 35 years ago by my figuring. Things don’t seem to be getting much better.
