[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-08-19 TFG’s lawyer makes a big deal about the 11.5 million documents that needs to be reviewed to prepare for trial. For the record, the lead lawyers will not be doing that review as they will likely hire what is known as an ediscovery company many of which have likely already contacted them pitching their services. What an ediscovery company does is hire between 100 to 2000 or more attorneys at a substantially discounted rate that reviews the documents based on guidelines set by TFG’s counsel. This is called document review...see more on that here. Cases containing billions of documents can be and routinely are reviewed in a couple of months depending on the number document review attorneys used. Thus, that paltry 11.5 million documents (ediscovery) can be reviewed in a couple of weeks depending on the resources allocated by TFG’s attorneys. Litigation technology has advanced significantly from 50 years ago where TFG’s attorneys seem to be stuck. In other words, 150 ediscovery attorneys reviewing 50 documents per hour and working 10-12 hour days can review 75 to 90,000 documents per day and complete the review in less than five months. If 200 attorneys are used obviously it will take less time, 300, half that time, etc., etc. "we would need to proceed at a pace of 99,762 pages per day to finish the government's initial production by its proposed date for jury selection." So the 99,762 pages per day is easily done. TFG’s attorneys have complete control over how quickly the documents are reviewed so the claim that it is the equivalent of him being required to read “Tolstoy's War and Peace, cover to cover, 78 times a day” is BS on a nuclear level.
