The Solution to Trump-ism [1]

Most people will instinctively dismiss this as a simplistic solution to a complex problem, but hang in there with me. The solution sounds simple, but it is far more complex than immediately apparent.

The “die hard” Trump supporters all have a common thread...they carry a “chip on their shoulder” and feel that American society, especially the “elite-educated snobs” have looked down upon them and are working to make their lives harder and inconsequential. In a diverse society like ours, until the various segments can learn to accept one another and function together, this imagined discrimination is always going to be around. When you add to this equation the efforts of the “outlaw” governments who want to see America fail as they subliminally feed this separation between our various segments and breed both division and conflict, then the problem gets even larger. Both our bloated national budget and our military / industrial complex feed off this dilemma.

This “chip on the shoulder” is not just limited to Trump supporters. You can say the same for the blacks, latinos, white nationalist, gays, trans, liberals, progressives, conservatives, etc. All carry this idea that society at large must accept and like them or they have every right to both judge and strike out at the country at large for not seeing their “way”.

For three or so years I drove a cab and lived in a tent in the woods. Cab drivers must be psychologist, empaths, street smart, and willing to live on the edge. Your survival literally depends on you “reading” the occupant of your cab and determining if this person represents a risk or even danger. You learn pretty quick how to size people up. You do this with CEO’s to crack heads. Unless you can recognize a threat before it materializes, you are going to be toast. They are behind you

So, I learned to measure the person’s attitude and approach real quick. If I felt that there was a “chip on the shoulder”, I was immediately in code red. If I was in code red, I would ask for an ID and maybe a deposit. If the person was trouble, this would usually separate the “cream from the milk”. What I found is that many of them would rely on their chosen form of self-discrimination to cast guilt, blame, and shame on me for asking to see their ID and/or give me a deposit. I would always tell them that I could care less about their chosen judgement perceptions, I was concerned about their attitude and approach and the fact that they might be a problem for me. This usually rendered them speechless. I would tell them to comply with my request or get the hell out of my cab. I’m a big guy and had no problem enforcing my rules.

So, here’s the ticket to ride: Learn how to be kind and friendly. I could care less how you look or what your skin color is or how you choose to live your life, just demonstrate a willingness to be kind and friendly towards me and I’ll respond in the same manner. If you refuse and choose to shove your “shit” into my face with some lame idea that this will solve your “chip on your shoulder” problem, then I could care less about you and would prefer to loose you sooner than later.

Spoiler Alert: This is how the Universe is set up. If you place yourself inside of the “game”, then the Universe responds in kind to you and provides for you. If you chose to place yourself outside of the “game”, you are an anomaly and unable to benefit from what surrounds you. You can carry the largest “chip on you shoulder” imaginable, but this will never change this basic paradigm. The whole point of having a country like America is so we can practice this exchange of energy on this level and build upon this basic paradigm to push Greatness into an even larger and broader context. Want to Make America Great Again? Change your attitude and approach and work overtime to express kindness and friendship to everyone, including strangers.
