THINK OF IT THIS WAY [1]

Think of it this way. There’s this guy, he murdered a bunch of people in cold blood. He admits he did it. He brags on it. A whole bunch of people saw him do it. There are videos of him doing it. He tries to get other people to do it.

Only problem, the murderer has this mysterious power. He can charm all the other people who wish they could get away with murder into standing up for him. They threaten to go out and murder a bunch of other people if he gets convicted.

So what happens in court, huh?

Do we let this guy go, this psychopath?

Or do we follow the law, no matter how unhinged his rants become, no matter how threatening the people who like him become.

True, the rump has not murdered anybody. Not in the sense of picking up a gun himself and shooting somebody. He has bragged that he could do just that, though, and no one would convict him.

We won’t bother with pointing out that the rump has pushed lies that have resulted in the deaths of many thousands of people, especially his lies—and let’s face it, they are outright lies—about the severity of Covid19 and the efficacy of the vaccine. Let’s just settle for say the crimes he has committed are as egregious as murder, just as much against the law and the constitution.

The crimes he has admitted to. The crimes he was witnessed committing. The crimes we have videos of him committing. Not only committing them, but committing them over and over again, grinning with his own sense of absolute power, of absolute immunity to the laws and rules of civilization.

What’s a jury of twelve sane people gonna decide to do with this guy?
