[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-09-05 I know it’s early in it’s development stage and hasn’t even become a named storm as of yet. But here we are with a newly formed tropical wave(13) and it’s expected to become a named storm shortly. If it does, it will be named ‘Lee’ in the list put out every year. The main graph shows it becoming a major hurricane, ‘M’, by the weekend. That puts it at least with winds around the center above 110mph. From what I’m reading and seeing at this time, there really isn’t any major steering problem in it’s path to make it change course, even after this 4 to 5 day cone expires. No fronts moving SE across the United States. No real wind shear that could take it back down. But alas, we’ll just have to wait and see. But if I lived on the SE Coast, I would definitely begin paying attention. But wait...In the pic below, we can see that large Yellow X just beginning to move off the coast of Africa. All indications are that this series of storms will develop into a wave and pretty much follow the same path as the first one, and expected to become a hurricane. We’ll just have to see how it all plays out.
