Write-in voting. You can't write just anyone in. [1]

Supporters of Donald Trump (aka their God-King) are saying if Trump is disqualified and doesn’t appear on the ballot, they will just write him in, and he’ll win that way. It won’t work. First, you have to qualify to be on the ballot. Second, write-ins are usually people who miss the filing deadline to be on the ballot. You can still file to be a write-in, though,

I know, because once I ran for school board here. I missed the filing deadline and had to campaign as a write-in and tell people I wouldn’t be on the ballot since I’d missed the filing deadline. They’d have to write me in. I didn’t win; the winner had a political last name, same as Kilbane, Russo, and Donnelly. I was surprised I came in second because there were three of us running. As poll worker I learned the night before the election we got printed copies of who had voted early, voted by mail, and WHO WAS A WRITE-IN. You can’t just write somebody in. I remember one year when several people didn’t like the two candidates we had. They wrote in Mickey Mouse. And threw their vote away.
