OMG After a long wait Aquaman II finally makes it to theaters [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-09-17 Was anyone watching the games today. The advertisements. You can tell awards season is upon us. The classics are coming this Fall. One right after the other. The long anticipated Aquaman II, what is believed to be a horror classic to rival IT (the first half), The Exorcist: Believer, and what many have claimed to be the best Troll movie in decades. There will not be an empty seat in the theaters. Can anyone wait? This is of course snark. It is obvious that the studios are running on fumes, and rather than negotiating with the writers and actors they are digging deeper into the cobwebs to find anything that might bring in harried parents and a few teens. Of course the teens are going to be spending a lot of time on TikTok. It reminds me of the last days of the old theater in my community forty years ago, or Drive-In theaters staggering to their ignominious end. Has anyone also noticed for the first time I remember streaming services are sharing their best stuff with each other. Not older stuff or based on early contracts like Walking Dead. No, Max now has top of the line recent stuff like Dark Winds and Interview with a Vampire (collusion anybody?). I don’t know how this all ends but it won’t be pretty. I got to go post my TikTok now.
