Good morning, Folks. Today’s choices are by one of today’s best progressive banjo players, the Grammy award winning Alison Brown. But first

Morning Open Thread is a daily, copyrighted post from a host of editors and guest writers. We support our community, invite and share ideas, and encourage thoughtful, respectful dialogue in an open forum. Join us, please.

If you think all banjo music is twangy and bluegrassy I suggest you give Ms Brown’s work a listen. At least listen to a few minutes of the first one. In that, Ms Brown teams with the Kronos Quartet for a light Classical waltz. She also uses her banjo in contemporary, soul, jazz, Celtic and Latin inspired pieces.
