Photo Diary: Greetings from Tulsa OK [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-09-27 “Oooooklahoma, where the wind comes sweeping down the plains ...” I’ll be posting from here for a couple weeks, then heading down to Little Rock for a bit. Some photos from a walk around Tulsa. For those who don't know, I live in a converted campervan and travel around the country, posting photo diaries of places that I visit. Downtown Tulsa Bok Center Arena Oneok Field, home of the Tulsa Drillers Tulsa Theater Reconciliation Park, a memorial to the victims of the 1921 Tulsa Race Riot. That will be a separate history diary. Union Depot, built in 1931 just as the boom times were ending This nondescript (and out-of-repair) spot on a pedestrian bridge marks an oddity: due to a quirk of acoustics, people standing in the center of the circle can hear their own echo, but people standing around them cannot hear it. The spot is known as “The Center of the Universe”.
