I remember when Republican President Ronald Reagan and Democratic Speaker of the House Tip O'Niell disagreed. Happened pretty often, but then something unheard of would happen.

They would negotiate, and compromise, and come to solutions to benefit the American people. Back in the day, nobody really got everything they wanted, but things were accomplished. Those days of rational governance are long gone.

I am no fan of Kevin McCarthy. I say good riddance for his bullshit, his broken promises, his stupid revenge impeachment inquiry (what a fucking joke) his sucking up to the cheeto wannabe dictator, his actions after J6, and all the rest. But by vacating the chair, rethuglicans have literally stopped any and all business of the US House of Representatives.

And who caused this bullshit to happen? None other than Matt Gaetz, and he did it out of spite. He did it because Kevin, in a brief moment of lucid humanity, played cock blocker when Gaetz wanted to get into Cassidy Hutchinson's pants. He did it because of the ethics investigation into his actions. He did it because it was personal, and Gaetz and his fellow bomb throwers did it without any plan moving forward.

By the way, Matt Gaetz friend Joel Greenburg is currently serving an 11 year sentence for child sex trafficking. For some unknown reason, the investigation into Gaetz by the US Justice Dept was shelved. Why? I have no idea, but allegedly lady killer Matt participated in sex parties with underage girls. WTF? And this guy is not only not in jail, but is still a member of Congress? Well, what did you expect from rethuglicans who espouse anti LGBTQ positions while secretly leading double lives and engaging in gay sex. Hey, I don't care about same sex fun, I say whatever makes you happy...but I do care about hypocrisy.

Welp, what now? Looks like in about 5 weeks, there will be a government shutdown. Since apparently nobody in the House republican conference want the job, the speakers chair could remain vacant for quite some time. And these are the people that republican voters want?

Pitiful.
