Well, it’s Tuesday, and Joan McCarter is scheduled to stop by.

Maybe you thought the weekend’s news meant we wouldn’t end up talking about government shutdowns. But that just means it’s time to start counting down again!

It’ll be just like old times! Back through the mists of time, to an age known as… approximately mid-August, when the next government shutdown was, oh, about 7 weeks away.

Seven weeks, though? They should probably just take a couple of those weeks off, just so they don’t work themselves too hard.

After all, all they’ve got left to do is 11 out of the 12 annual appropriations bills. Possibly without a Speaker. No biggie.
