Trump gets gagged, Kevin gets ousted and Fani Willis sings dah RICO blues [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-10-03 Before we dive in, I wanted to share another brilliant Patrick Fitzgerald parody (above) starring the amazing Fani Willis. Good for a chuckle. Now, on to the crazy… so much news, I want to, nay, have to, give it in tidbits. Color me surprised; Gaetz upped the ante and removed Kevin from the speaker’s chair. Meanwhile, the real stuff is going down with something called Project 2025—buckle up for that one. Trump is gagged after posting lies about Judge Engoron’s Clerk on Social media, and DeSantis proves why he is at the bottom of the sleaze heap even for MAGA. Kevin gets bounced! So Matt Gaetz did a thing, and it was equal parts amusing and frightening—below x x YouTube Video Not to be outdone in immaturity, Kev got on X (formerly known as Twitter) and posted, “Bring it.” Matt Gaetz called his bluff—Kevin has been formally removed—and I think that will cost Gaetz—bigly! If you haven’t heard of this, then check out the video below—will raise the hair on your arms, neck, and well, anywhere you have hair: If you want a bit of an abridged version of this horror show, that is the Project 2025 nightmare scenario. Serling voice: Imagine, if you will, an America where Trump has the power to overrule branches that kept his narcissistic instincts in check. Hemant Mehta, The Friendly Atheist, described it this way: In short, Project 2025 is a Christian Nationalist wishlist that elevates white evangelical bigotry at the expense of pretty much everyone else. The document is meant to convince the Republican base that they should fall in line and vote for whoever the GOP’s presidential nominee is, even if it’s Donald Trump, and even if he’s ultimately convicted of his many, many crimes. But it should really serve as a warning for saner Americans about what’s at stake in the next election if they don’t vote for the Democrat or pretend to have principled reasons for sitting out the election entirely The people behind Project 2025 have a $22 million budget to work with and an “advisory board” full of right-wing organizations with a long history of harming marginalized groups, spreading lies about American history, filing lawsuits to destroy civil rights protections, and banning books. This is the future that awaits us if the Republican Party wins next year. It’s not fear-mongering. They’re literally telling us their plans. That should keep you up at night more than the thought of Trump in a speedo. FINALLY! A gag order was slapped on his Royal Orangeness after he went after Judge Engoron’s Law Clerk — and sure MAGA is melting down; who cares! We need to stop allowing ourselves to be held hostage by a bunch of toddlers. In any case, Trump can’t stop crime-ing even when on trial for his business “life.” But wait—there’s one more! DeSantis joins in on the McCarthy butt-kicking fun! I don’t see how this could end poorly for Gaetz (it could backfire big time if a vengeful McCarthy cashes in his Capital Hill chips and gets him removed from Congress!) DeSantis decided to roll up his sleeves and paddled Kevin McCarthy and Trump Booties simultaneously (boy, that must have been one big paddle) by claiming Trump was responsible for McCarthy’s speakership. Youch! As per Meidas Touch: Florida's little autocratic bully with a big mouth and high heels continues to flail about seeking traction with the far-right loonies who will never break from Trump. Since he knows how unpopular McCarthy is with the MAGA base, he blamed Trump today for the fact that McCarthy became Speaker in the first place: "I opposed McCarthy when it wasn't cool years ago. He's really someone that Donald Trump has backed and put into that position. I think they have not delivered results." Of course, Desantis being Desantis, he just criticized both sides without taking an actual position on Gaetz's Motion to Vacate: "This whole movement to do this motion, I think a lot of that is performative. I think a lot of that is the typical theatrics that we're used to seeing. I'm not sure how much thought is going into that." I agree with DeSantis (I have to wash my mind with soap after that statement)—it all does seem a trifle performative. This leads me to another nightmare thought. Allow me to don my tin foil hat, guys: Can all these maniac roads lead to the Heritage Foundation and Project 2025? Smoke and mirrors often obscure insidious plans. All I know is that this era is genuinely unprecedented regarding Congressional theater, and I can only guess what we are in for in 2024. Be vigilant.
