Laura Brill is the Founder and CEO of The Civics Center, the high school voter registration group in the middle of its Voter Registration Week. She sends these facts:

Every year, 4 million Americans turn 18 and become eligible to vote

70% of them live in a state where they can preregister as early as 16 or 17

The majority of high school seniors are eligible to register before graduation

When high schoolers register to vote, they participate in elections at rates as high as those who are older

Tomorrow, Thursday, October 5, The The Civics Center is running a free Run a Drive Training. Sign up here for the Zoom link.

If you can get one school to do one drive, that’s hundreds of new voters.

Already been trained? Be sure to send in your Drive Action Plan and Register your Drive .

Call on Congress to pass the Freedom to Vote Act requiring every state to allow preregistration at 16, among many other common sense measures to expand access to youth voting.

Urge your representatives to take action and pass the Youth Voting Rights Act.

Write letters to turn out young voters in Virginia before the November 7 state legislative elections.

Email friends, parents, teachers and administrators to let them know about your drive.
