A bid deal if true: Feinstein's committee appointments [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-10-04 The following assertion in Monday’s Abbreviated Pundit roundup by Greg Dworkin caught me by surprise: In case you missed it, Republicans won’t block a replacement on the committees for Feinstein, including Judiciary. Well, in fact, I did miss it. And it’s a matter that I’ve been eager to hear about. As we heard about the late senator’s decline into dementia earlier this year, a lot of people warned that even if she resigned it would not necessarily help matters, because Republicans could block her being replaced on the Judiciary Committee, leaving the committee evenly divided and probably blocking further Biden judicial appointments for the rest of the current Congress. But, alas, Greg did not cite any source corroborating this welcome news. So, I’m wondering if it’s true. Can anyone shed some light on this? I’ve been kind of sour on Feinstein for years, but this brief tribute by digby put it all in perspective for me. (Note to San Franciscans: I popped into City Hall today to view the coffin lying in state. If you are wearing a backpack, go to the loading dock entrance so you can clear security.)
