"I've never seen anything so malicious..." - C. Tenney, R-NY [1]

In her statement today about Kevin McCarthy’s ouster from being Speaker of the House, Congresswoman Claudia Tenney’s anger was palpable.

I have never seen anything so malicious as the lies that were told on the House floor yesterday ...

Maybe she is actually beginning to get it? Maybe she finally does understand that her caucus actually does have malicious people in it?

Alas, in spite of this apparent movement in the direction of truth, reason, and competence, the ellipsis at the end of her quote above revealed that she’s just as malicious as the liars she had just blasted:

I have never seen anything so malicious as the lies that were told on the House floor yesterday … by people I consider to be good conservatives.

Once upon a time, the Republican party had a few “good” conservatives in it. It’s just not true any more … and Representative Tenney is a prime example of the Republicans who think they are “good” but in fact are shamefully enabling just the type of abominable behavior they pretend to castigate.

If you didn’t see Stuart Stevens on MSNBC last night, you might want to check it out. Stevens was a top strategist for Mitt Romney’s failed Presidential campaign, and you don’t get much more conservative than that.

But when Trump became their nominee for President, Stevens left the Republican Party. Today, he believes the Republican party is nothing more than a syndicate; a cartel that exists for no other reason than to defeat Democrats.

If Representative Tenney really thinks her far-right colleagues are malicious, why not follow the example of Stuart Stevens and others. To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, “Ms. Tenney, abandon this cabal!”
