Can the US have a 'government of national unity'? [1]

The US finds itself in a rare situation where neither party can muster a governing majority. In this context, Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries proposes that a bipartisan coalition is the way forward for the House.

Other countries often have ‘national unity’ governments consisting of the two main parties, but I’m not aware of anything like that in US history. It’s a bit different since the House only needs to select a speaker, and not populate a cabinet. Jeffries pointed to recommendations by the House Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress … I guess I have some reading to do.
