Shame on You for Equating the Two [1]

To: Jeff Danziger and Amanda McKay—Shame on you for a thoughtless and simplistic cartoon equating the actions of Hamas terrorists with those of Israel. This weekend, Hamas terrorists attacked Israel and committed crimes that should shock the world. Children were decapitated, concert attendees were gunned down, villages were burnt into oblivion, hostages of all ages were kidnapped, and over 1,600 people were murdered. These crimes are not equatable with Israel’s actions towards the goal of having a secure and safe country for its citizens. Citizens of Israel include 2,000,000 Arab Israelis, 150,000 Druze Israelis, 185,000 Christian Israelis, and 7,181,000 Jewish Israelis, among other religious and ethnic groups. Most Americans are not aware that Arab Israelis are distinct from the Palestinians living in the West Bank and Gaza. Danziger’s naivety and ineptitude in equating Israel’s self defense with terrorism gives cover to the terrorists seeking to destroy Israel and murder millions who live there.
