Did everybody survive today’s Friday the 13th without any misfortune?

Tomorrow morning there is a solar eclipse most visible in the western states. This 90 sec video will give you an idea of when it will transpire and what percentage of the eclipse will be viewable. Local cloud cover will be the wild card.

DON’T LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE ECLIPSE WITHOUT PROPER EYE PROTECTION.

Back in 2017 I spent the night in Butte and then drove, along with 1,000s of other people, to eastern central Idaho to be in the path of totality for a solar eclipse. I made a pinhole viewer out of a shoebox. A nearby eclipse chaser from Iowa let me look through his eclipse-rated glasses for a bit.

It was out in the middle of farm country, but the shoulders of the roads were packed with cars, RVs, etc. Some people made a party of it.
