It’s Friday the Thirteenth.

I’m planning on a quiet day today…no plans other than making a sweet potato stew for dinner and posting tonight’s KTK. I don’t know about you but all the news of war, crisis, and chaos is overwhelming me today and I’m longing for some peace.

So tonight I am offering a few virtual walks and tours. Except for haunted New Orleans, they are pretty gentle. I love YouTube for this kind of transport to different climes.

I have a couple other soothing picks from Substack for you.

Fairy Tale Salon: The Fairy Melusine from Dr. Sharon Blackie’s The Art of Enchantment. This particular article with reading she made free — but if you subscribe, there is a world of myth and mystery available. I was hooked. I subscribed.

Stress & The Knitter by Joyce Vance. (Yes, the Joyce Vance who comments on legal matters for MSNBC.) A snippet:

I have been more of a stress knitter ever since the Trump era began. I had always been methodical and careful before I began a pattern. I kept a long list of patterns I wanted to knit so that when it was time for the next project, I could knit something I’d planned out in advance, and had both yarn and needles on hand for, from my “queue.” I finished projects before I moved on to new ones. But no more. In recent years I’ve started, and failed to finish, any number of stress knitting projects.
