Good news: There are talks of compromise going on per the House Speaker race. [1]

Just read this on Raw Story: GOPers 'need to hit rock bottom': Dem says talks on compromise speaker deal are happening The Democrat making that statement is Rep. Annie Kuster (D-NH) who said that on Friday said discussions between Democrats and Republicans regarding a potential compromise for House speaker are “quietly happening,” according to The Messenger reporter Stephen Neukam.

I touched on the potential for compromise in a diary yesterday and am happy to be able to present a more positive take on it today. The Raw Story article also mentions the following:

Time reported that despite talks suggesting a potential deal with Democrats to save McCarthy prior to his ouster, the former speaker “ultimately refused to offer members of the opposition party any concessions, leaving Democrats united against him.”

So much for those trying to blame this mess on Democrats. McCarthy made his own bed and shit in it.
