WYFP - Eye surgery [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-10-14 So I went this morning (Friday the 13th) and had my eye surgery done, and it went fine. I had a blepharoplasty on both eyes, as I couldn’t look up from swelling in the eye socket. I only was able to get it done because I have Medicare, which covered the cost completely. The doctor and staff was very nice, the same doctor did Mum’s in July and it looks great. He said that it went great, and that there was a fair amount of fatty tissue in there as well, who knew your eyelids and eye sockets can get fat? I certainly didn’t. I have some meds, and I am taking them, except for the oxycodone, because it just doesn’t hurt that bad, I just took some tylenol and that seemed to do the trick. I am putting ice packs on my eyes periodically to keep down the swelling, and I look like i got beat up, but I think it will be worth it. I don’t have any real issues with blurriness or anything, just the swelling. I don’t have to do anything until Tuesday morning when I have class, all my fish days are covered until next Sunday, and I am doing well enough in class I can skip if I need to. But over all I am pleased with it and look forward to the bruises fading away and the stitches dissolving. I didn’t know that getting older involved so much surgery, but I'm glad I have Medicare.
