Long time reader needs help! [1]

Hello,

I have been a daily “Daily” reader for many years, but have never commented before. I have found myself in a tight spot and I know that generous members have helped others in the past. Briefly, this is my situation: I had cancer surgery at the end of July. While in the hospital, I was informed by my Landlord that the apartment is going to be sold and I need to be out ASAP. Having had a 6 week recovery period at home, my income was seriously impacted. I have been very lucky in two ways—I had stage 1 cancer, no sign of spreading, and I have found a new place to live. I have paid the security deposit and the move-in fee, but still face Nov 1st rent as well as rental for the moving truck and movers (I and all my friends are over 70, so we can no longer do it ourselves). I will be OK going forward after Nov 1, once I have moved in to the new place. I don’t need a tremendous amount of money, $1000 will do it. I have a second follow up surgery scheduled for Nov 14, and so I need to be in before that time, as I face another 6 week recovery period.
