WOW! Speaker Kevin wants this Republican to serve on the Speaker's Task Force! ... oh wait... [1]

I am SO HONORED! The Speaker of the House wants ME! Little old ME! to “serve on [his] Speaker’s Task Force.” He says that even though he is “the highest ranking Republican in Washington, D.C.” he understands “that the most important Republicans are folks like [me] across the country...” [all emphasis in the original]

Wow, I mean, WOW, li’l ol’ ME? Really? I’d be SO honored, if 1) I were a republican, and/or if 2) Kev were actually, y’know, Speaker. Or… well, if my name were Fellow American. Kinda generic for a Speaker’s Task Force, huh, Kev?

When do you suppose this was sent? (Alas, postmarks are a thing of the past.)

Here’s the first page of the letter in case you would like to read it. Happy to post the rest in comments if anyone asks. (Might be tomorrow, though.)

Of course, the mailing includes a questionnaire to fill out. If the return envelope would cost them, instead of me, money, I would have returned it. Are Republicans so dumb as to think these are appropriate survey questions? No, of course they don’t think that. They think they are enraging statements to feed their base (and what an apt term that is).

1. Do you believe Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives have been effective in their efforts to stop the radical liberal agenda of the Biden Democrats? [Yes] [No]

Now, first of all, “radical” and “liberal” are actually opponents within the party, but whatever…

You can read the rest if you have a strong stomach. This is aimed at low-information idiots who feed on outrage and anger, not people who want to make the country work.

Just thought you might like to see what they’re up to — or were, when Kev was Speaker.

For the record, this arrived on the 17th of October, as Gym Jordan was losing the first of his votes for the position of Speaker.
