IAN: Thursday 10/19/2023 Still Celebrating Fall [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-10-18 Here are the things I made this month for door prizes at my guild. Fun stuff, glad it found a new home. As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care! IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news! Monday Youffraita Tuesday: bigjacbigjacbigjac Wednesday Pam from Calif Thursday art ah zen Friday FloridaSNMOM Saturday FloridaSNDad Sunday loggersbrat This little diorama is made from a cool box I got filled with metallic paints and river rocks. Margie and I painted the rocks and I paper mached this little box to use here. It was a bit of work on a piece of cardboard but I really enjoyed doing it. Fresh Pumpkin Stand This was a Dollar Tree sign that called me to make it into an apple pie. There is a local tourist small town in the desert here called Julian that has been famous for apples. All the locals ask all the tourists at every chance “Have you had the pie?”. It cracked me and Bill up and it was great pie too. We spend a few days there on an anniversary, eating pie and wandering through the old time cool cemetery. Had the pie? This and the next one are smashed cans. They are cute but not quite successful yet. Lots of fall color in a small space though. Flower Market 1 See above. Flower Market 2 I made this little house out of straw, like one of the Three Little Pigs. I made it on the stand that comes in a frame after I used the frame in another craft. I had done it before but this one is better. Welcome straw house The graphic on this was a stuffed little pillow from Dollar Tree. I have to admit, it looked pretty cheesy when I bought it but it stretched out nicely on this ship lap board and it was taken early on in the give away. You never know what you can do with something until you try. Harvest Blessings That’s it for October. New ones next month for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I hope you enjoyed seeing them.
