DEAR PRESIDENT BIDEN: I AM AN AMERICAN JEW BUT I AM NOT A ZIONEST [1]

Dear President Biden:

I am an American born Jew but I am not a Zionist.

I was born in 1948. Growing up in the close proximity to the holocaust and creation of Israel, I could never understand how the Jews of Israel, having suffered the holocaust and persecution throughout history, could be heaping such atrocities on other people. The ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people is endangering Israeli Jews and all Jews around the world such as myself. I have never been able to feel fully safe being a Jew here in America as long as Israel continued on the course of conduct it has been engaging in for the last 75 years. It is no surprise that antisemitism has been on the rise, not just after October 7, 2023 but, as we have seen, for years and years before.

By stating American unconditional support for the Zionists now and in the past, and because of your personal failure to take the moral and leadership position of stopping arms sales and any aid to Israel, you, my President for whom I have voted, are endangering me.

Your transparent political maneuver and cowardness in dealing with the political pressure of those who have something to gain by supporting and indeed emboldening Israel's illegal and murderous policies, is furthering the real possibility that one day I, my children, my grandchildren great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, all of whom are considered to be Jews under Hitler's edict, will be murdered, not because of Israel's actions, but by America's complicity.

You must unequivocally demand that Israel end their occupation and slaughter of innocent Palestinians and Israelis alike. You must cease all military sales and financial aid of any type from the United States to Israel. You must demand that Israel come to the table to establish a two state peace. If the United States withdraws all support for Israel peace will be readily achieved.

And my dear Mr. President, you will have saved me and my children, my grandchildren and my line of great and great great grandchildren to come.
