Hamas' First Targets for its 10/7 Savagery were the most pro-Palestinian Rights 'Peace' Kibbutzim [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-10-19 Hamas Slaughters the Israeli Peace Movement They included more than a few peace activists like Vivian Silver, who spent her days making sure that Gazan women with cancer were treated in Israeli hospitals. Vivian is either dead or a hostage now. She was, and is, Hamas’s worst nightmare, a person who believed that Jews and Arabs, two Semitic peoples, could—no, had to—coexist on a small patch of land common to both tribes’ ancestors. This may be the deepest, most cynical obscenity of the Hamas pogrom: they targeted the Jews most sympathetic to the fate of Palestinians. Hamas is not anti-occupation or anti-colonization. Hamas is not a ‘liberation movement.’ And Hamas is not pro-Palestinian independence or Rights. Hamas is a huge, well sponsored and supported Islamist terrorist organization hell bent on destroying Israel and every Israeli Jew. Hamas has also received huge amounts of funding from Qatar which was, at the minimum, tolerated by Netanyahu. Hamas not only launched a savage genocidal slaughter on 10/7 which killed at least 1300 Israeli men, women, children and babies, but it first overran, murdered, and kidnapped those Kibbutzim and Kibbutzniks on its border who were the most caring for and supportive of true Palestinian Rights and Palestinian / Israeli peace as well as individual Palestinian citizens. Hamas did so since such Palestinian/Israeli collaboration and cooperation is antithetic to its existence and its purpose which, simply put, is to slaughter every Israeli Jew; every Jew from the ‘river to the sea’ and fully reclaim Israel as Arab lands. As its own. It’s not unlike, in fact, Vladimir Putin’s imperial delusion that there is no Ukraine but a kind of break away, blasphemous province whose people and culture must be utterly annihilated with those lands and the survivors coming back under full unconditional control of the Russian Federation — or a renewal of the old Soviet Union. (For further perspective, see ‘Taiwan and China.’) That Putin has been a patron and active supporter of Hamas for many years is no coincidence. There are direct geopolitical lines at play which must be broken. Putin has also been working for many years to reconstruct the fractured, incendiary geopolitics of pre-WW1. And he teeters on success. NATO could have clearly stepped on Putin’s own dreams of genocidal rampage early on but badly messed up that opportunity. Another may still arise before too much longer. These are all key pieces of the story and those which further represents the abject violence of and threat to Israel that Hamas represents — and made so painfully clear on 10/7. To have credibility with regards to challenging Israeli actions previous to 10/7 and immediately following (and Israel and Netanyahu must be challenged on both sides of 10/7), individuals and organizations must first unconditionally condemn Hamas and its insanely brutal assault on southern Israel on 10/7 in combination with its many years of killing Israelis. Those who still cannot find their way to do so will have little credibility. October 7 did not happen unilaterally and was hardly a singular event. Hamas has been killing Israelis, dual nationals, the IDF and others in Israel for years. Years of car bombs, pizzeria bombings, bus bombs, car ramming attacks, knife attacks, single and mass shootings of Israelis, kidnapping IDF…the list is long. 10/7 was a culmination of all this and though the degree of savagery and scope surprised, the event itself should not have at all. And, yes, I am well aware of Israel’s insanely violent settler movements though this does not represent all Israeli settlers any more than Hamas represents all Palestinians. I have written about and frequently condemn these violent Israeli settlers and equated them as terrorists and criminals in the belief they must be treated as such. Sadly, violent Israeli settler factions are currently running more free than ever due to the impact of Israel’s current War of Deterrence in Gaza combined with the active support of Israel’s own Jewish Supremacist ministerial block to include Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Yoel Smotrich. Their day of reckoning will, very hopefully, come soon. Netanyahu’s, more hopefully, will as well. For now, 10/7 and Hamas remain the focus because 10/7 must never happen again. Those who try to give Hamas any cover whatsoever for the horrors it wrought on 10/7 become, at the least, sympathizers and, at the most, collaborators. This would not be much different from those who tried to provide Al-Qaeda justification or legitimacy for it’s assault on the Twin Towers on 9/11. This story, Hamas’ deliberate first targeting of Israel’s peace movement and peace kibbutzim represents a story to be told to the world in a clear and focused manner so it can be fully understood. It matters. Israel is fighting a War of Deterrence in Gaza it will win. But Israel must also better focus on and target Hamas as opposed to Gaza’s citizens. These issues combined to help explain why Israel is reacting so strongly strongly in Gaza and towards Hamas. Israel will not let anything or anyone get between it and Hamas with the outcome that Hamas will never again pose a military threat to Israel or exert control any over Gaza. Israel is also very likely to annex at least part, if not all, of the Gaza Strip once it effectively destroys Hamas and its military capacity. It will not stop until this objective towards the full security of Israel is achieved. Once Israel has reached the primary objective of destroying Hamas, and it will, the geography and geopolitics of the region will again be changed forever. And the only one responsible for this loss to Palestinian citizens and further compromise to anything resembling a two-state solution, which I support in some form, is Hamas and its enablers [END] --- [1] Url: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2023/10/19/2200346/-Hamas-First-Targets-for-its-10-7-Savagery-were-the-most-pro-Palestinian-Rights-Peace-Kibbutzim?pm_campaign=front_page&pm_source=trending&pm_medium=web Published and (C) by Daily Kos Content appears here under this condition or license: Site content may be used for any purpose without permission unless otherwise specified. via Magical.Fish Gopher News Feeds: gopher://magical.fish/1/feeds/news/dailykos/
