Fani Willis: Working on the Chain-Gang [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-10-20 Three weeks ago I posted The Plumbers of Coffee County (which you may refer to in the index of my earlier posts) I realized at that time that it was still “Early Days,” and that I risked “being way over my skis,” but concluded: Fani Willis: Working on A Chain-Gang “...keep an eye on Sidney Powell — not simply for the role she played in Coffee County, but Far More Importantly for the Dec. 18 Oval Office ‘brawl’ Powell, Patrick Byrne, & Michael Flynn [‘Team Crazy’] got into with White House Counsels Pat Cipollone & Eric Herschmann [‘Team Normal’] — CRUCIALLY IN THE PRESENCE, AND WITH THE PARTICIPATION, OF TRUMP HIMSELF...Which was followed immediately by Trump’s Tweet Ordering his followers to ‘Be There. Will Be Wild’! for the January Insurrection. If Fani Willis can get Powell to FLIP and testify to Trump’s direct involvement in that [DEC. 18] meeting, that will go a long way toward a ‘GAME OVER’ conviction o f True in Willis’ Fulton County RICO case…. And that’s where Scott Hall comes into play — as a lever to be used against Powell. Hall has the crucial evidence that would both disbar Powell, and send her to prison in the Coffee County case. But that’s ‘small potatoes’. Instead, Willis could use that to offer Powell a plea bargain in exchange for her testifying to what she witnessed first-hand in the Oval Office the night of Dec. 18th.” It is interesting to note that, as news of the plea bargain broke (Thurs., Oct.19, 1pm Pacific) on MSNBC’s Deadline White House, Legal Analysts Muller Commission Prosecutor Andrew Weissman and Jan 6 Committee Chef Investigator Tim Heaphy both initially thought that Powell’s plea bargain might be of limited value (if any at all) in prosecuting Trump. However, the release (also on Oct. 19) of the original full indictment of Powell clearly reveals how Fani Willis tied Sidney Powell inextricably into her ultimate goal of prosecuting Trump. For in addition to the more narrow crimes Willis charged Powell with in Coffee County, Willis also included the following section of her indictment: “On or about the 18th of December, 2020 Donald John Trump met with Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell and others at the White House. The individuals present at the meeting discussed certain strategies and theories intended to influence the outcome of the November 3, 2020 Presidential Election, including seizing voting equipment and appointing Sidney Powell as Special Counsel with broad authority to investigate allegations of voter fraud in Georgia and elsewhere This was an Overt Act in Furtherance of the Conspiracy.” Welcome to the Chain-Gang, Kenneth Chesebro. Who’s Next? In other words, Willis has been “working on a Chain-Gang” from the very beginning — including how Powell would fit into its creation. Now that Chesebro has flipped, who will Fani Willis add next to her chain-gang?
