[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-10-20 Of course, I’m not a lawyer but like everyone else I got “the google” to edumacate me in lawyering. I was curious what types of plea deals there are and “the google” informed me that: The types of pleas in court are: * Guilty: A complete admission of guilt and a waiver of rights. * Not guilty: A complete denial of any guilt. * No contest (or nolo contendere) : A plea that neither agrees nor disagrees with the charges, but accepts the consequences. * Autre fois convict: A plea that the defendant has already been convicted of the same offense. * Autre fois acquit: A plea that the defendant has already been acquitted of the same offense. * Pardon: A plea that the defendant has been granted a pardon by the executive authority. So lets think about this, you have two lawyers who could have plead “no contest” plea deal or a “not guilty” plea deal, but it looks like whatever the evidence the Fulton County Prosecutor had against them, they must have been so damning that these two lawyers had to plea GUILTY which is a complete admission of GUILT agreeing that there is factual basis to the charges and that there is factual basis for their GUILTY plea. These are experienced highly educated lawyers who sought out and engaged the services of seasoned criminal defense attorneys, who, by the way, know how to play every court room game in the book and yet given all of this they opted for a GUILTY plea deal — they must have been facing serious jail time and the Prosecutors must have damning evidence that is easy to prove their guilt beyond a shadow of any would be jury doubts. Think about that — two seasoned lawyers hiring experienced professional criminal defense attorneys to fight for them decided let's take the GUILTY PLEA cause that’s their very best option. OK, that’s so obvious but here’s the thing, Trump has been saying that there was NO CRIMES that took place and that the charges are frivolous. This argument was bad from the beginning but now it has no chance in hell after two of his own lawyers admitted that there is factual basis for the charges and for their guilty plea deals. I’m not a lawyer but…. If we have a fair and impartial judicial system in America that still works — whatever ends up happening with Trump and his conspirators in Fulton County, will definitively prove one way or another if there really is a fair and impartial judicial system in America or not. After this second GUILTY plea from Trumps Lawyers today, I seriously hope the answer is a “hell yes.” Gawd help us, if we don’t.
