"We're All Ukrainian Now" and 50 Words That Can Save the World [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-10-21 RussiLeaks Origins This is the story of how after 9 years of bewilderment, terror, confusion, and trauma I would come to abandon all fear in 2022 after hearing a certain 50 powerful words in song and speech and I came to launch RussiLeaks on March 1, 2022. And then I chose to run for Congress a year and 3 months later against the Putin-Trump MAGA extremist Anna Luna and all that she stands for. Here’s the song part. It was an incredibly moving John McCutcheon and Tom Paxton song called “Ukrainian Now” which John authorized me to republish on RussiLeaks with Ukrainian subtitles to uplift the Ukrainian people’s spirits. Have a listen and read on. x Vimeo Video Ukrainian Now by John McCutcheon and Tom Paxon The Tipping Point Was this a tipping point like the one described in Malcome Gladwell’s book “Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference”? Yes it was. It was just 50 spoken and sung words. The first 6 words came out of the mouth of Volodymyr Zelenskyy himself when he declared during The Battle of Kyiv after being offered extraction by the United States: “I need ammo, not a ride.” The next 44 words were the last verse of “Ukrainian Now.” “Sometimes the picture before you is just too hard to see, But I can’t look away like the coward that I used to be. While others are mounting resistance and risking it all How can we stand by impassive when we hear their call.” Just 50 words: 44 of them put to piano in a folk song, and 6 spoken by a courageous, democratically elected actor-turned-president at war, with Russia. A president and a musician. A musician and a president. Hmmm. The right 50 words can change the world, when spoken or sung by the right person, in the right place, at the right time, in the right way, with the right emotional power and conviction. They can be the one little thing that can make all the difference. You can change the mind of one person with 50 words. That means you can change the mind of a key person in a position of power with 50 words. And if you can do that, you can change the world with 50 words. It can be in a song, or in a public speech, a Telegram or Facebook post, or a whisper to your husband or wife over a pillow. You can bring an end to war, save a democracy, end the scourges of school mass shootings and child sex trafficking. The challenge is finding the right words and that one key person in the right place, time, position and to reach them with an impactful message that will resonate in their soul. It’s also about timing. You get those right and you shift their paradigm, their belief system. It calls them to act. You get them to abandon all fear which has prevented them from taking decisive action. These TWO wars in Ukraine and in Israel are now collectively the war of my generation and of Gen X, and Gen Z. And I’ll add to that that we need to wage our own war against the scourges of child sex trafficking and school mass shootings. And this is the moment in history we need to come together and do it, together. And THAT’s why I founded and launched RussiLeaks and unleashed it on Russia on March 1, 2022. And that’s why I’m running for Congress. This is the RussiLeaks origin thesis. And that’s why I ran this particular RussiLeaks story with this particular message and imagery and beamed it into Russia over multiple channels on March 7, 2022: “One honorable Russian with a Putin secret will change the world. Our mission is to find her. General Svetlana Petrenko, are you listening?” That’s 23 words combined with the hashtag #RussianNeo and a picture that’s worth a thousand words beamed into Russia over the Internet from RussiLeaks’ website under the title: “Russian Neo: Who Shall be the One. We beamed it in over Telegram, Facebook channels and networks in Ukraine. You can read the full Russian Neo story on RussiLeaks here. The emotional message was: You already know Putin’s most evil secret. Expose that most-evil Putin secret to others and you will save the world. It was directed at a single female general and through her others in the Ministry of Justice with the power to potentially persuade the Russian men with guns and tanks and attack helicopters and the FSB to effect the arrest of Putin and free Alexei Navalny and bring about the end of the Ukraine war. And now it’s a part of my foundational thesis for my Congressional campaign which, come the November 2024 election, will end with the removal from office of one and perhaps more of the Putin-Trump-agenda-spewing puppets from their seats in the US Congress. And maybe even will deny the biggest Putin puppet of all a disastrous return to the Oval Office. I launched RussiLeaks on March 1, 2022, just one week after Putin attacked Ukraine. I wasn’t ready to launch yet, but the world was ready so I rolled. Since then, I and my Ukrainian staff have published 50 articles and artworks, some of which are to private, targeted audiences versus the general public. Some have passwords given out to but a few key people. And on June 28, 2023, I launched my candidacy against Anna Luna for Florida’s 13th Congressional District House seat. May God bless America and protect our democracy. Here are the full lyrics to the song. Enough said. Ukrainian Now by John McCutcheon and Tom Paxon When I open the paper and check out the news on TV, It’s pictures of buildings exploding is all that I see. But there in the midst of the horror the blood and the bone, Are the Davids against the Goliath defending their homes. I am Ukrainian now. I will stand and I will not bow. Half world away but somehow, I’m Ukrainian now I am the Muscovite protesting out in the street. I am the Rabbi learning to pray with my feet. I am the soldier who used to dance in the ballet. I am the father sending my family away. I am Ukrainian now. I will stand and I will not bow. Half world away but somehow, I’m Ukrainian now A world that once was so big, Now feels so small. An attack on the freedom of one is aimed at us all. Some times the picture before you is just too hard to see. But I can’t look away like the coward I used to be. While others are mounting resistance and risking it all, How can we stand by impassive when we hear their call? We are Ukrainian now, We will stand and we will not bow, Half world away but somehow, We all are Ukrainian now. We are Ukrainian now, We will stand and we will not bow. Half world away but somehow, We all are Ukrainian now. John Liccione is a candidate for US Congress in Florida’s 13th Congressional District where he is running against Anna Luna in 2024.
