No Israeli Rocket or Bomb at Gaza Hospital -- CNN [1]

CNN published the results of their in-depth analysis of the Gaza Hospital explosion and fire Sunday morning, October 22 [www.cnn.com/...]. They concluded that the explosion and fire were not caused by an Israeli rocket or bomb, i.e. an airstrike. Instead, they agreed with the Israeli IDF that an errant rocket part from a disintegrating Palestinian rocket was the cause.

CNN consulted a large number of experts in weapons and explosives, who reviewed the available pictures and video of the explosion and fire. The experts concluded that the crater found was too small to be from an Israeli rocket or bomb. They said that a piece from a rocket that burned out could have caused this crater. Furthermore, they said that this piece would have set the nearby cars on fire, creating the explosion and fire at the Al Ahli Hospital.

They qualified their cause of the explosion and fire by saying that until a forensic examination can be made of the site, this cause cannot be definitive.

Several of the experts said that the site should have had remnants from the explosion and fire, but the site was unusually clean. One said it was the cleanest site he has ever seen.

Sadly, some of the experts lamented the difficulty of performing forensic examinations in Gaza, and felt that a proper investigation would never be done.

WHAT DOES THE CNN INVESTIGATION MEAN ?

In the opinion of this author, the CNN investigation means:

First and foremost, it means that Israel didn’t do it ! All of the experts CNN consulted agreed that the explosion and fire was not caused by an Israeli airstrike.

Second, it means that one of the Palestinian terrorist groups did it ! This conclusion was never explicitly stated in CNN’s article, However, with only two sets of parties involved, if Israel didn’t do it, then one of the terrorist groups had to do it. Furthermore, it was a Islamic Jihad rocket that failed with a remnant from the rocket hitting the hospital.

Thus, Islamic Jihad is the responsible Palestinian terrorist group. Since the other Palestinian terrorist groups continue to blame Israel despite the findings to date, and at worst a degree of uncertainty, these other groups bear a large measure of responsibility for the discord in the region.

Third, it means that the explosion and fire was an accident. This conclusion was also never explicitly stated in CNN’s article, (This conclusion may or may not be true per this author.)

Fourth, it means that the Palestinian terrorist groups shouldn’t have been shooting rockets over hospitals.
